About

The Challenge

Stella finds most sinks inaccessible for washing dishes because they are not designed for wheelchairs to roll under them. Stella would like to wash her dishes and increase her ability to use her kitchen. Modifying the height of her sink would require extensive house renovations, which is impossible to do as she is renting. Stella would like a lightweight, collapsible, and removable solution that helps her to complete this everyday task.

The Concept

Team Stella developed a foldout tray that slots over the cupboard door in front of her sink. It is a portable, lightweight, and adjustable solution which provides a surface for Stella to use while doing the dishes. The tray is angled with edges to contain the water and allow it to drain back into the sink.
