About

The Challenge

Nick is an IT professional who often needs to identify problems by looking at LED lights on electronic devices. As someone with vision loss, he would like a device that can assist him in detecting if the lights are on or off, what colour they are, and if they are blinking in a specific pattern. With a tool like this, Nick will gain more independence in his working environment.

The Concept

The team proposed the concept for a mobile phone app called LACS, designing the wireframes and functionality.

The app works with a fibre optic snake camera that can be plugged into the phone. The app should identify the presence of an LED, its colour, and at what frequency the light is blinking.
