About

The Challenge

Joanne would like  a solution to put lace-up shoes on independently. She wants a solution which does not permanently alter her existing shoes. It must also be easy to use without exerting her whole hand. This solution was developed at the same time as the shoe applicator.

The Concept

The team designed a 3D printed piece held together by a zipper, which can be stitched into the shoe using its laces. A keyring has been attached to the zipper’s tab to enable Joanne to easily pull the zipper closed with one finger to fasten her shoe
