The Challenge
John is an amputee and wheelchair user who would like a custom pick-up stick to increase his ability to grab various objects. He is seeking a device which is dexterous enough to allow him to pick objects up off the ground.
The Concept
The DFM team has developed a claw that John can open by pulling a loop positioned around one of his arms. The end of the stick has a socket and cuff that John can use to control its movement with his other arm.
