The Challenge
Youki and his Mum would like a system to allow Youki to have more independence when dressing. Youki is an electric wheelchair user and only uses one hand for all activities. Youki would like a device to help him dress himself using one hand while supporting his own body.
The Concept
Youki’s team worked with him and his parents to develop several unique solutions.
One is a harness that can be attached to a pair of pants to allow Youki to dress himself. This also included a mechanism that allows him to close zippers. Another is a system of pulleys attached to a portable structure that assists his mother in dressing him.
