About

The Challenge

Joanne would like a device to aid putting her shoes on independently. She would like a solution which is easy to use with her limited hand mobility and constant wrist flexion. She would like the device to be able to hold her shoes open at an angle so that she can slide her feet in without bending over.

The Concept

The team created a solution to hold Joanne’s lace-up shoe open while she puts it on.

The device features a platform which props up the shoe and a hook to hold the tongue open. The shoe aid platform has an adjustable angle and is on castor wheels so it can be used in lots of different positions.
