About

The Challenge

Anna is a makeup enthusiast living with vision loss. Anna would like to create an affordable, low-tech mirror design that allows her to see the left side of her face while applying makeup. Anna would like an accessible design that also allows users with vision loss to style their hair and put on jewellery.

About

Anna worked with student teams on two different solutions:

1. A tablet stand that works with most tablets or mobile devices with a camera. The adjustable mirror boards extend the field of view for people with vision loss. The mirrors can be easily repositioned while applying makeup. The design is modular and inexpensive, constructed out of plywood and off-the-shelf materials. This design is relatively large and suits at home use.

2. A handbag sized solution that can be adhered to a smooth vertical surface using a suction cup. There are two adjustable mirrors that can be used to view the sides of the face.
